How much does it cost to clean a sofa in Connecticut?

Nobody in this area publishes their prices, so here are ours — plainly, before you have to call anyone.

Short answer: professional sofa cleaning in Fairfield County, CT usually costs $90–$150 for a loveseat, $120–$180 for a standard three-seat sofa, and $200–$320 for a large sectional. Price moves with size, fabric type and how much staining or pet odor has to come out.

That range is what a real, in-home extraction clean costs — not a rented machine from the hardware store, and not a franchise that quotes low on the phone and adds "protector" and "deodorizer" once they're in your living room.

What actually changes the price

1. Size — measured in seats, not feet

Pricing goes by seat count, because that's what drives cleaning time. A chaise counts as a seat. An ottoman is usually a small add-on. A six-piece sectional with a built-in recliner is genuinely a different job from a three-seater, which is why the ranges above spread so wide.

2. Fabric

Microfiber and standard poly blends are the easy end — they take water-based extraction well and dry fast. Linen, velvet, chenille and anything labeled "dry clean only" (an S code on the tag) need a gentler solvent method, more care and more time. That's a real cost difference, not an upsell.

Check the tag under a cushion: W means water-safe, S means solvent only, WS means either, X means vacuum only.

3. Condition and stains

A sofa that's been maintained cleans on the low end of the range. Years of body oils on the headrest, kids' juice, coffee, ink or wine need pre-treatment and multiple passes. We'll tell you honestly what will come out completely and what will only improve — before you commit.

4. Pet odor

Pet hair removal is included. Urine is different: it soaks through fabric into the foam and the deck underneath, and surface cleaning won't touch it. Proper treatment means saturating the affected area with an enzyme product that breaks the uric acid down. Expect that to add to the job — but it's the only thing that actually works.

Is cleaning cheaper than replacing?

Almost always, and it isn't close. A mid-range three-seat sofa in this area runs $1,200–$2,500 new. Cleaning it costs roughly 8–12% of that, and a well-built frame can be cleaned many times over a 15-year life.

Replacement genuinely makes more sense when the frame is going — cushions that won't hold shape, a sagging deck, joints that creak when you sit. Cleaning fixes how furniture looks and smells. It can't fix how it's built. We'll say so if that's what we find.

What's included in our price

  • Pre-inspection of fabric type, stains and problem areas, with an honest read on what will lift
  • Thorough dry vacuum, including under and between cushions
  • Pre-treatment on spots and high-contact areas (headrests, armrests)
  • Hot water extraction — or the appropriate low-moisture method for delicate fabric
  • Deep rinse so no sticky detergent residue is left to attract dirt again
  • High-power extraction to pull moisture back out, so it dries in 2–6 hours instead of days
  • A walkthrough with you before we leave

No travel fee, no fuel surcharge, no pickup or delivery cost. We're mobile — coming to you is simply how the service works.

Common questions

How much does it cost to clean a 3-seat sofa?

In Fairfield County, CT a standard three-seat fabric sofa typically runs about $120 to $180. Heavy staining, delicate fabric or pet odor treatment can push it higher. You get an exact price before any work starts.

Is it cheaper to clean a sofa or buy a new one?

Cleaning is almost always cheaper. A professional clean costs a fraction of a replacement sofa, and a well-built frame can be cleaned many times over its life. Replacing usually only makes sense when the frame or cushion foam has failed.

Do you charge extra to come to my house?

No. We are a fully mobile service, so cleaning at your home or driveway is the normal way we work. There is no pickup fee and no delivery fee anywhere in our Connecticut and Westchester service area.

How often should a sofa be professionally cleaned?

Every 12 to 18 months for a typical household. Every 6 to 12 months if you have pets, small children, or someone with allergies, since upholstery traps dander and dust well before it looks dirty.
